Building
Extending the statement processor beyond categorisation into trend analysis — the point where a bookkeeping script starts becoming an FP&A tool. Also finishing Chalkbook, which has taught me more about local-first data modelling than any tutorial did.
Learning
Working through how experienced engineers structure a codebase, rather than just getting features to run. Most of my recent progress has come from reading other people’s code and asking why it is arranged the way it is.
Tracking
Still keeping a Lyubishchev-style time log. Alexander Lyubishchev recorded his hours for 56 years; I am several decades short of that, but the practice has already changed what I say yes to. It is also the reason Lyubi Daily exists.
Climbing
Bouldering a few times a week. Chalkbook started because I wanted a training log that felt like a journal rather than a spreadsheet — and because the existing apps all wanted an account before showing me anything.
Reading
Working on English vocabulary the slow way — pulling unfamiliar words out of film subtitles and reviewing them in context. Subtitle Flashcards came out of getting tired of doing that by hand.
